Dear Editors:

I have been trying to avoid responding to every letter written by ignoramus Trump supporters, but the incredible stupidity and audacity of Mark Gianfalla, who wrote to WestView excoriating the paper for its opposition to the incompetent, lying, so-called President Trump, set my blood boiling.

His bold assertion that Trump is the President of the United States, and must be honored as such, flies in the face of the fact that Drumpf stole the election with the aid of Russian intelligence agents, the scum WikiLeaks, and James Comey of the FBI. So much for the alleged legitimacy of Trump, who incidentally failed, by a wide margin, to get the majority of American votes.

More to the point is Gianfalla’s contention that Trump deserves the respect conferred by the Office of the Presidency. The fact is that, Trump, with his pussy-grabbing mentality, divisive rhetoric, disregard for the Constitution, and lack of any coherent policy, has undermined any respect that may be due the office he now holds. Moreover, I will give Trump the same respect that the Republican low-lives gave Obama when he was in office, which is none!

Now that the schmuck he calls President has pulled his PR stunt of sending Tomahawk missiles to attack a Syrian air base, the Republican imbeciles in the House are applauding his “decisive action.” Of course, when Obama went to Congress to obtain authority to bomb Syria, the Republicans refused to grant him that power.

Furthermore, Trump’s missile attack is a joke. First, he warned the Syrians that he was attacking. Second, the airbase was basically devoid of any significant military weaponry and aircraft when he attacked. And third, the next day, Assad was bombing civilians again. I hate Assad as much as anyone, and believe he should be tried for war crimes, but bluster and bombast is not the way to get rid of him.

Now Drumpf, the stumbling bumbling no-nothing, has, unilaterally, sent an American fleet off the North Korean coast. I’m sure the lunatic North Korean president is thrilled. Like Trump, nothing seems to please him more than being recognized as the threat to the world that he is. Will he and Trump keep playing chicken until one of them sets off a conflagration that destroys us all? But then again, the egos of the American far-right will be stroked, as they were by the ridiculous Vietnam and Iraqi wars.

When the hell will Americans grow up and understand that we live in an interdependent world and that the U.S. is just one of many nations, that we must seek peace, or we will all be destroyed? Stop with the bullshit American “Exceptionalism.”
