I wanted to compliment you on the addition of Tom Lamia’s Notes and Perspectives From Away column. I enjoy his writing style and his message has resonated with me. There are many in the Village who have, or continue to, split their lives with small town/rural communities. Lamia’s column is valuable for those of us who are urban at the core, but grounded by our partial existences outside the Big Apple.

What fun! I’ve just returned to Mid-Coast Maine after 5 months in Fort Lauderdale, (former Manhattan girl, 30 years). My good friend Vincent Livelli who is still residing in the West Village at the age of 97 was good enough to mail me this article. It’s lovely and a joy to read as I sit here looking out on Penobscot Bay. Looking forward to the rest of the articles. Nice writing Tom!
