If it takes a village to raise a child, the same can be said for a film festival. The Greenwich Village Film Festival was the brainchild of two Italian filmmakers living here in New York, Alessia Gatti and Antonio Padovan. Joining them in the effort this year are Richard Eric Weigle and MichaelAnastasio of Grove Street. They are joined now by newcomers Martha Francis Williams and Lydia Darly.
The Second Greenwich Village Film Festival will take place on October 24th, 25th, and 26th at the Rene Weil Concert Hall at The Greenwich House Music School at 46 Barrow Street. Local restaurants and business supporting the festival include: Emmett’s, Via Carota, Buvette, I Sodi, Little Owl, Pagani, 49 Grove, and the Bedford Barrow Commerce and Grove Street Block Associations.

Monday, October 24, 2016 (7:00pm)
• Screening of last year’s winner “Greenwich Village: A World Apart”
• Screening of this year’s Greenwich Village Portraits Submissions
• Screening of the Academy Award Nominated Film “The Collector of Bedford Street” showcasing local director Alice Eliot and many Village residents
• After Party at 49 Grove Street
SHORT FILMS
Tuesday, October 25, 2016 (7:00pm)
• Screening of this year’s Short Film Submissions (Group 1)
• After Party at AOC at 314 Bleecker Street (at Grove Street)
SHORT FILMS & DOCUMENTARIES
Wednesday, October 26, 2016 (7:00pm)
• Screening of this year’s Short Film Submissions (Group 2)
• Screening of this year’s Documentary Submissions
• Awards Ceremony
• Winner: Best Greenwich Village Portrait

• After Party at Pagani at 289 Bleecker Street (at 7th Avenue)
All tickets are $15 per night and include entry to the After Party that evening. (Food and drink are not included.) Each night, audiences will also get to meet the filmmakers during a brief question and answer period.
