Northwell Health Imaging at Lenox Health Greenwich Village Opens

Northwell Health Imaging at Lenox Health Greenwich Village opened its brand new state-of-the-art, 13,000-square-foot imaging center on August 2, 2016 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Patients will now have access to a full spectrum of non-emergency radiology services. Northwell Health’s Imaging Program, the first radiology practice in New York State designated by the American College of Radiology as a Diagnostic Center of Excellence, combines the skill of fellowship-trained, subspecialized radiologists with the most advanced imaging techniques.

Led by Medical Director, Kavita Patel, MD, the full range of services include: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), CT scan, ultrasound, digital x-ray, bone densitometry, full-service breast imaging, digital mammography including 3-D tomosyntheses, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, breast biopsies, and a full range of image-guided biopsies and therapeutic procedures.

The new Imaging Center is another example of Northwell Health’s commitment to filling the health care void in the West Village left by the closure of St. Vincent’s Hospital in 2010. Opened in 2014, Lenox Health Greenwich Village represents a new model of community-based care that integrates health and wellness services with seamless access to 24-hour emergency care and a full range of medical specialists. Situated in the Phyllis and William Mack Pavilion, Lenox Health Greenwich Village opened with the debut of Manhattan’s first freestanding Emergency Center.

In addition to the Imaging Center, additional medical services that will be added include—but are not limited to—an outpatient surgery suite offering the highest quality outpatient surgery technology, medical specialty practices, and a community meeting space.
