On August 15, 2016, Artists Who Care’s (AWC’s), 9/11 Tiles for America Project, honored the finished Mulry Square Project, by celebrating the sixth anniversary of the Love Bench, and the return of the Tiles for America. Over 600 neighbors, tourists, and passersby joined Paul McClure, Dusty Berke, and numerous AWC volunteers, assisting guests in rehanging tiles on the newly-constructed fence.
Special thanks to Michel et Augustin, Illy, Hubert’s Lemonade, and Pink Vanilla Sweets, for offering products that were freely given to guests and passersby.
We would also like to thank NYC Beach and Snow Bus, The Meatball Shop, Elephant and Castle, Yerba Buena, Fiddlesticks, and the spirit of the West Village in making this a great and festive night.
Also, special thanks to Bloomberg Capital and Great Performances for donating much-needed plants for the new triangle garden, which is part of Mulry Square.
AWC is also planning a future event on September 7th—an ice cream social co-sponsored by Haagen Dazs, to help re-hang 3,000 tiles. You can also bring your own tiles!
