On Thursday, May 8th, the Village Independent Democrats (VID) met at St. John’s Church on Christopher Street to endorse candidates for this November’s election. They endorsed J. Machelle Sweeting and Arlene Bluth for Civil Court, Rachel Lavine for state committeewoman, Deborah Glick for state Assembly, Brad Hoylman for state Senate, Tom DiNapoli for Comptroller, and Eric Schneiderman for Attorney General. In the governor’s race, the club voted for no endorsement rather than Andrew Cuomo, which is the equivalent of a no confidence vote (see article in this issue).
