Joel Gordon, one of the partners and General Manager of Cowgirl Hall of Fame, 519 Hudson Street corner of 10th Street, said that a series of factors have come into play that have made running this local business very challenging. The restaurant was closed for eight days during Hurricane Sandy. This past summer, human error caused a gas line to break during the replacement of a water pipe on 10th Street forcing the shutdown during a busy summer weekend, with $25K worth of food needing to be thrown away. Cowgirl’s rent has doubled since they signed a new lease four years ago and there is a step-up increase every year thereafter.

The community can help by revisiting Cowgirl, saying hello and show your support for a local business.
