A new political day is dawning …and not a minute too late. With progressive Democrats elected to office as Mayor, Public Advocate, and Borough President,hope is on the horizon. In my district we have a young, progressive, community-oriented, new City Councilman.
I hope you will join me in encouraging Corey Johnson to support Melissa Mark-Viverito for Speaker of New York City Council.
I have stood in many a demonstration with this City Council woman by my side. If you live in NYC, please ask your City Council person to support her. I wrote to mine: COREY JOHNSON and asked him support her. Remember, CHANGE MEANS CHANGE.
I have received tea party-like emails attacking Melissa. If you hear something negative about her, be sure to ask for documentation and judge who is telling you this trash and most importantly why.
I judge politicians on their actions not just their words. Talk is cheap, actions are what matter to me.
Melissa is committed to bringing people’s concerns back into the political discourse. I trust Corey Johnson will support the most progressive candidate in the race and not succumb to scurrilous rumors being spread about her by so called self-appointed political thugs. Integrity is the issue. Melissa Mark-Viverito is not for sale, not to developers, not to political machines, not to lobbyists or big buck donors … what a change!
