I received a call from the National Rifle Association asking for a donation. It took me a moment to restore my balance and I asked from where the call was coming. West Virginia was the answer. I asked if the caller knew she was soliciting funds from the very epicenter of liberal thinking, the West Village. There was a pause while she checked with the supervisor before she said, “Thank you” and then rung off.
