NYCLASS (New Yorkers for Clean, Livable and Safe Streets) just signed a contract with Jason Wenig and The Creative Group to build the first prototype of an electric vintage-replica car –“horseless carriage” – to replace the over-worked carriage horses in New York City and revamp the carriage industry.
The organization has gained support from a broad coalition, including Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, City Councilwoman Melissa Mark Viverito, Public Advocate Bill DeBlasio, Miley Cyrus, Lea Michele, Alec Baldwin, Kate Winslet, Bo Derek, Debra Messing, Kathy Najimy and more, in completing their mission. More than 100,000 people have signed a petition in support of replacing the horses with cars.
