Since around 2010, I’ve either worked for or at the Tribeca Film Festival, where I’ve held several positions, including volunteer, crew member, staff, juror liason, activity leader, and production staff. In 2022 and 2023, I’ve worked at the festival dressing talent. My first love, but a vastly different experience from my previous Tribeca roles. In 2022, I styled several members of the House of Labeija for the debut of their namesake shorts documentary. I also styled the director of the film, Fredgy Noel. We had a blast last year. So much so, that when I received the call from Fredgy to style her for Tribeca 2023, even though she didn’t have a film in this year’s festival, I was elated to reconnect with her there. Every time I approach styling for these red carpets, I want to bring that electric downtown New York fashion and style energy. Last year, I incorporated fashion designers Sonia Rykiel, LaPerla, Stella McCartney, Todd Oldham, and others into our festival run. This year, I incorporated designers Terry Singh, Richard Tyler Couture, and Three As Four. Three As Four is the only designer that I repeated, as they are that unique and strong. I love them. Last year, I was excited to debut the new Todd Oldham Maker Shop collection on the red carpet, prior to their Vogue press. This year, I presented Richard Tyler Couture on the red carpet. I tire very easily of seeing the same designer brands and aesthetics on the red carpet. Instead of just complaining about it, I bring about change with every opportunity that I’m presented with. Richard Tyler Couture was huge back in the 90s having dressed everyone from Janet Jackson to Prince to Sarah Jessica Parker. Introducing today’s generations to Richard Tyler was my absolute pleasure and continues my fashion legacy in masterminding the fashion and entertainment industries.
