Puff the Magic Dragon by Lenny Lipton and Peter Yarrow (four-year-olds)
Puff the Magic Dragon is a sing-along book about a friendship between a dragon and a little boy. It is based on a song by Peter, Paul, and Mary.
Who Needs Donuts?

Sam happily starts working for Mr. Bikferd, but when left alone to do the job he doesn’t know what to do. The book is full of beautiful black and white illustrations.
Fancy Nancy: Oodles of Kittens

Fancy Nancy books are about a girl named Nancy who loves to be fancy. In this story, Fancy Nancy and her best friend Bree rescue stray kittens. They find homes for them and each keeps one for themselves. My sister enjoys the Fancy Nancy series. The books are full of surprises and funny moments.
The Land of Stories
by Chris Colfer (seven-year-olds)
In this series Alex and Conner go between the real world and the fairytale world, saving it from evil. The Land of Stories is one of the best series as it has lots of thrilling moments and cliffhangers.
Hoot by Carl Hiaasen (eight-year-olds)
Roy is going on the bus to school one day when he sees a boy running very fast, as if he has to get somewhere in a hurry. When Roy finds out what this boy’s mystery is he decides he is going to help. This starts a whole world of adventure. The story draws you in from the start.
The School for Good and Evil
by Soman Chainani (nine-year-olds)
The School for Good and Evil is a place where kids get trained to be good or to be evil. Sophie and Agatha are best friends who get kidnapped and brought to the school. Sophie expects to be put in the school for Good and that Agatha will be put in the school for Evil. Instead, Agatha ends up in the school for Good while Sophie ends up in the school for Evil—which leads to disaster. This book will scare and excite you and leave you wanting more.
The Girl Who Could Fly
by Victoria Forester (ten-year-olds)
Piper is no ordinary girl. She has the power to fly. Piper joins a school for special kids but soon learns that the school might not be what it seems. This is a great book for kids who love thrillers.
