Letter to the Editor
Certain species eat the male after copulation, which indicates how women may feel about men in general.
This is an almost impossible letter to write but in my very late years, I have come to the irrevocable conclusions that men and women cannot communicate – not at all – nada.
Oh yes, you think this is going to be a funny letter but recently I have had several very bitter experiences with women and there is no doubt they think like a different species.
OK men are all ego and if a woman tells a man he looks like Cary Grant, she can pull him by the nose in any direction she wants.
But women are all emotions and they believe their emotions are the truth. If the engines fall off a plane and a woman passenger emotionally cannot accept it – that plane will fly serenely on, at least in her mind.
The problem is that men cannot explain why a plane without engines is headed for trouble to a woman – try as he might, she cannot and will not accept it and he gets angrier and angrier as she accuses him of being a bully.
Now believe it or not, I was having this conversation with a complete stranger (a young artist sketching in a pad) sitting at a table in the Chelsea Market when an elderly woman at the next table turned and with a German accent announced that she was a philosopher and was ready to participate in our conversation (she took the woman’s side).
I can’t remember what she said but it was mostly giving her credentials when I had a thought and I stopped her and asked dramatically, “Name me one female logician.”
She stopped for an instance, looked inward as she ran through the very few named female philosophers and came up with a change of the subject.
