The billion-dollar Gottlieb real estate empire, legally wrested by nephew Neil Bender, may see this seven-story condo block on Charles and Hudson Streets. In August, it was turned down by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. In the rendering above, the building is shown with the new Charles Street Block Association planters but not with the private cars owned by police officers illegally parked on the sidewalk.
