Community Members Angered that New 75 Morton Street School is Behind Schedule

administration 11/01/2013     Articles

On October 22nd, the West Village’s upcoming new middle school at 75 Morton Street cleared its final approval step when the City Council subcommittee agreed on the site location. However, parents and community members, many of whom have worked on launching this desperately-needed new school for the last five years, are now worried. Renovation of the building is already behind schedule due to delays in the current tenant (a State agency) vacating the building. The following letter was issued by our Community Board 2 to demand action and get the time table back on track for a fall 2015 opening.
