Hi, I had hoped to submit an item about a show the NYPL Leroy St. branch is doing of my photos of the Village. Hower, the show only runs to the end of December. (The free reception is this Saturday at 3:30) If its possible to include it on-line, here’s the info. Sincerely, David Van Biema

“All the Day’s Bounty: Photos from the Village and Elsewhere” David Van Biema
The Washington Park branch on Leroy Street offers 32 large-format iPhotos by David Van Biema, of subjects ranging from bike-handlebar statuettes of the Virgin of Guadalupe to color close-ups of construction all over the Village to the iconic bend of Gay Street in DayGlo reds, yellows and blues.

    Curator: Emil Allakhverdov

In its heday, the Gallery presented glossy shows of antiques, fashion, photography and the work of Maurice Sendak and other Village masters. It is now a multiple-use room, but is reviving its identity as a venue for monthly display of Village talent.

I speak not for the library but for myself. If you are interested in doing an interview, requests should probably go to the branch manager Miranda Murray or to Mr. Allakhverdov. Bot are at 212.243.6876

    Sincerely,

    David Van Biema
