Patricia Doherty, RN, Director of the Department of Nursing for Community Medicine, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2016. (Community Medicine was originally part of St. Vincent’s Hospital and focused on treating the less fortunate.)
Pat was diagnosed with lung cancer in April of 2016. At the time, she was living with her daughter, Kathleen, in Georgia. Kathleen was extremely supportive to Pat and provided the necessary care preceding a peaceful and beautiful death in her own home. Kathleen was with Pat when she took the final breath.
