Villagers Headed to the Democratic Convention

admin 06/01/2016     Briefly Noted, Politics

As a result of the Democratic Presidential Primary held on April 19, some delegates to the Philadelphia Convention of the Democratic Party were awarded that day and some were elected at the State Democratic Party Convention. Arthur Schwartz, Westview Contributor, was elected at a State Democratic Convention as an At-Large delegate, and has been tapped for the Platform Committee by Senator Bernie Sanders, who has vowed to have an impact at the Convention. Arthur is also Counsel to the NY Sanders Delegation, which has 117 members from around the state. Arthur has promised to blog from the Convention. State Senator Brad Hoylman was also elected as an At-Large delegate. Deborah Glick, the local Assembly Member, and Tom Duane, our former State Senator and City Council Member, and Ben Yee, an active Young Democratic leader from 9th Street, were elected on April 19.
