Started more than 40 years ago to plant its now 120 trees, the Charles Street Association relaxes at its traditional midsummer reception on the new lavishly rebuilt roof garden of 350 Bleecker Street. George Capsis, the cofounder, along with John and Joan Mc Allister sits with friends and neighbors—(clockwise from his right) Barbara Chacour, Aubrey Lees (standing) Stephanie Phelan (back to camera) and Jill Lynn.
