Madelyn Wils was appointed President and CEO of the Hudson River Park Trust in June 2011. The Trust is a State authority in partnership with the City of New York and is responsible for developing, managing and operating the 5 mile long, 550 acre waterfront park.
Until then, Madelyn was Executive vice President of Planning, Development and Maritime of the New York City Economic Development Corp. She was responsible for many of the City’s area-wide revitalization plans throughout the five boroughs. Madelyn successfully supervised the re-zoning and development plans for areas such as Willets Point, Hunters Point South and Coney Island re-zoning. Amongst her portfolio, she oversaw dozens of waterfront developments, transportation, streetscapes and park improvements in the five boroughs, including the East River Waterfront project, West Harlem Piers, Homeport, Brooklyn and Staten Island Ports and the Jamaica IMAX (intermodal) projects.
