“To market, to market” — to the Gansevoort Market to be precise, where a group of intrepid restaurateurs have teamed up to create a spacious new food hall. Though still a work in progress, there is already a satisfying array of gourmet specialties available and, as well as the many grab-and-go concession stands, a cheerful café space for those who want to enjoy their snacks in situ. Still to come to this formerly for- gotten site at 52 Gansevoort Street area bakery, a butcher, a fishmonger and a bar; at which point the venerable old survivor of the original 19th century Gansevoort Market will be launched on its 21st century career. — Maggie Berkvist
