WestView Letter November 2013: D’Agostino at the Archives

D’Agostino at the Archives

Dear Editor,

Upon reading in WestView that the D’Agostino at the Archives might have to leave, several of us long time Villagers became giddy with delight. We have for so long bemoaned D’Agostino, which we feel doesn’t serve the needs, or wants, of this neighborhood sufficiently.

Their limited selections of produce, often dated delicatessen items, lack of selection in organic foods, and their constant inability to keep in stock items we use on a regular basis, alongside their terrible website that makes internet ordering an ordeal, would make us welcome with open hearts and debit cards to a Fairway, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, anything butD’Agostino. As it is, most everyone I knows takes to these stores now, and/or uses Fresh Direct. Please keep us posted on their hoped for demise.

We are very ready for a new market here in the West Village.

Suzanne, take it from your comment u r one of those snobs who moans whenever your needs r not met. I have been living in the Archive for the past ten years and my partner for 21 years. The employees and the service has always been Wonderful. They r kind, hard working people. Do they sometimes run out of something. All markets do. But u know what, bring it up with a manager, like I did, and the problem was fixed. Go on ahead and order from your precious Trader Joe’s and Whole foods. I like my neighborhood market just the way it is. Pretentious free.
